Music: Alan Chan’s “Without A Trail To Lace”



On Saturday, April 10, Yuri Inoo gave this performance of “Without A Trail To Lace,” a composition for voice and vibraphone by Alan Chan on two poems by Nicky Schildkraut. In this unusual yet oddly effective performance, percussionist Yuri Inoo’s musical companion was… a video of soprano Courtney Huffman.

BREAKING BREAD OVER RELIGION

We’re pleased to announce the premiere of our new series/segment “Breaking Bread” where I sit down over a meal with a guest and discuss a topic about which we don’t fundamentally see eye to eye and hope that by the end of the meal we’ll find some common ground. Iranian Uprising: The Twitter Revolution

Huffington Post has been covering this with amazing focus. So many stories coming out of Iran because of new technology and a new kind of bravery I think. Here’s a video they have up from an Iranian woman reciting a poem while recording video of the nightly prayers – thousands of voices can be heard praying and calling out the name of God in the background. Amazing.
